- Natural stone is the most durable and functional hard surface available but like carpet, wood and even synthetic surfaces, proper care is required to maintain its maximum beauty. Care for natural stone tops requires little effort, take a mild soap and water solution, wipe clean and rinse. Your dish washing soap next to the sink will do just fine (not dishwasher soap). It's that simple. Periodically, you may wish to use a Stone Cleaner such as 3-In-1 Spray Cleaner ( See Below) to restore the original shine to your countertops. Available directly from Granite and Quartz Countertops.
The list of what not to do is much longer:
- Don't use abrasive cleaners
- Don't use steel wool or other abrasive pads
- Don't use acidic cleaners such as bowl cleaners, tile and tub cleaner, etc.
- Never clean with bleach or ammonia
- Avoid hot oil and grease splatters and spills (even when properly impregnated, some stones could be adversely affected).
